Ella's Name

While Avery was down for her afternoon nap yesterday, Ella and I decided that we would write letters to Santa. She colored Santa a beautiful picture and she wanted to sign her name at the bottom. After a little bit of practice she wrote her own name for the very first time! She was SO excited and I was so proud of her! I can't believe how grown up she is getting! Here are a couple pictures of Ella and her beautiful penmanship!

Grandpa Simpson's Wedding

I know I am a little late in posting these pictures, but better late than never! Grandpa and Ronna were married in the Redlands Temple on October 21st. It was a beautiful sealing, and Carlos and I were grateful to be there to witness it. After the sealing we drove out to Victorville for the reception. There was lots of yummy food to eat, and great company all around. We are so happy for Grandpa and Ronna, and we are excited that Ronna is now a part of our family! Here are a couple of pictures that I took right after they came out of the Temple. We love you both!!

Happy Thanksgiving!

We just wanted to wish everyone a very happy and safe Thanksgiving! We are so grateful for our wonderful family and friends and especially for eachother. These are a couple recent pictures of the girls. Enjoy!

Update!

O.K.. So it looks like it's going to take some time to get into the habit of updating this blog! I just need to get into the habit of doing it! There has been a lot going on around here at the Simpson home. Particularly with the girls. Avery took her first few (unassisted) steps yesterday. I know it's not the most exciting news for anyone who isn't a parent, but for us it was HUGE! She has been so frustrated because she wants to walk and keep up with her big sister. Pretty soon she will be totally mobile! I can't believe it! She also cut her very first tooth! I noticed this morning as I was getting rid of some paper she was chewing on. Yes, she is over 10 months old and yes, most babies her age have a least 2 teeth by now. But not for my babies! Tooth number one has finally appeared! Avery is actually ahead of schedule! Ella's first tooth didn't come in until a week before her first birthday. Hooray for Avery!



In other, more depressing news, Ella suffered her first big accident. On Carlos' birthday she was helping me get ready for his party and she slipped and fell right on her front tooth. It was bleeding, chipped and a little loose. Well, we thought we were in the clear until about 5 days later. It gradually started turning from pearly white to a nice shade of grey. So sad! Luckily it's only her baby tooth, but it still will never be the same.



Anyways, I have some pictures of Ella's very sad grey tooth and some new one's of Avery I'll post soon.

A Year in Review

I've just been thinking about how close it is coming to Ella's 3rd and Avery's 1st Birthday's! Both girls have changed so much over the last year. Here's a really short re-cap:

Ella is a great helper and a wonderful big sister. She loves to dress-up and play with her Barbies. She has recently discovered her imagination. Her name is constantly changing from "Hannah", to "Mylie", and back to Ella again. We never seem to guess the right name! She also has two trouble making imaginary friends, "Oliver" and "Lilly" (she is obviously in LOVE with "Hannah Montana"...at 2!). They are always taking toys from her little sister, and getting into things they know they shouldn't. She is very independent and knows exactly what she wants. It is amazing to see the transformation she has made over the last 3 years. She's no longer our baby! She's turned into a beautiful little girl!

Avery is talking up a storm and about to take off walking any day! I'm still waiting for her to say"Ma Ma", but I'm sure it will be soon! She is completely smitten with her big sister, and wants to be around her all the time (which drives Ella crazy!). She is finally getting to the point where she can play with Ella, which makes things much easier for me! Sometimes we joke that she would much rather eat paper than food! She is a pro at tearing out pages of books and finding anything that has been accidentally left within her reach. She is such a happy baby, and has such a sweet disposition.


We are so blessed to have Ella and Avery in our family. They bring us so much joy and happiness!
